==========================================================================
This is a Slackware Linux repackaged version of Glide. It was put together
by David Cantrell (david@slackware.com) with sources obtained from

        http://glide.xxedgexx.com/3DfxRPMS.html

Please refer to the original Glide license file that accompanies each vg*
package. It is in /usr/doc/Glide2
==========================================================================

This directory contains packages for adding 3Dfx support to Slackware. All
of the packages in this directory can be installed using the "installpkg"
command. Refer to the man page for installpkg for more information.

More information regarding the packages is below the table.

So what packages do you need to install? Here's a table of what's what:

  -----------------------------------------------------------------
   PACKAGE      | DESCRIPTION
  -----------------------------------------------------------------
   vg-glide.tgz | Glide for Voodoo Graphics based boards
   v2-glide.tgz | Glide for Voodoo 2 based boards
   v3-glide.tgz | Glide for Voodoo 3/Banshee based boards
   vr-glide.tgz | Glide for Voodoo Rush based boards
   glidesdk.tgz | Only if you plan on compiling software to use
                | the Glide rasterization library
   mesagl.tgz | Mesa 3.0 compiled with support for Glide
   xrush.tgz | XFree86 server for the Voodoo Rush
   xrushlib.tgz | X libraries for the Voodoo Rush
  -----------------------------------------------------------------

Voodoo 3 and Voodoo Banshee X support (2D only) is provided by our native
XF86_SVGA server in the X series. So in other words, you don't need any
other package to use your V3/Banshee with X. Do add v3-glide.tgz and
mesagl.tgz to play games.  :)

Good luck!

vg-glide
========
   Glide for the Voodoo Graphics. Install this package if you intend
   to use your Voodoo Graphics based board for gaming (for example,
   Quake). Just use "installpkg" on this package. You will also want to
   install the mesagl.tgz package.

v2-glide
========
   Glide for the Voodoo 2. Install this package if you intend to use
   your Voodoo 2 based board for gaming (for example, Quake). Just use
   "installpkg" on this package. You will also want to install the
   mesagl.tgz package.

v3-glide
========
   Glide for the Voodoo 3 and Banshee. Install this package if you
   intend to use your Voodoo 3 or Banshee based board for gaming (for
   example, Quake). Just use "installpkg" on this package. You will
   also want to install the mesagl.tgz package.

vr-glide

mesagl

   Mesa 3.0 compiled with support for using a 3Dfx board. Use this package
   in addition to the appropriate Glide package for your card (vg, v2, v3,
   or vr -glide.tgz) to setup your system for gaming. You can just use the
   "installpkg" command to install this package. You may want to remove the
   mesa.tgz package that comes with Slackware before installing this one.
   This package can essentially replace that package (this one just adds
   direct Glide support).

glidesdk

   Headers, example source, and documentation for doing Glide development
   work. Just use "installpkg" to install it.

xrush
=====
   Replacement XF86_SVGA server for the Voodoo Rush. Use "installpkg" to
   set this up as your X server. Be sure to first remove the xsvga.tgz
   package before installing this one.

xrushlib
========
   X libraries needed for the Voodoo Rush X server. Use "installpkg" on
   this package.
