Hi,

Are there any works for developing a routing simulator in ad-hoc network
environments with 'MaRS' which is a discrete-event network routing simulator ?

Thanks.

This memo describes the concept of mobile ad hoc networking--giving a
rationale for its existence and outlining the unique issues and
challenges found in this form of purely wireless, mobile networking.

Title : Ad Hoc On Demand Distance Vector (AODV) Routing
	Author(s)	: C. Perkins
	Filename	: draft-ietf-manet-aodv-00.txt
	Pages : 11
	Date : 02-Dec-97

The Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol is
intended for use by mobile nodes in an ad hoc network characterized
by frequent changes in link connectivity to each other caused
by relative movement. It offers quick adaptation to dynamic
link conditions, low processing and memory overhead, low network
utilization, and establishment of routes between sources and
destination which are loop free at all times. It makes use of
destination sequence numbers, which are a novel means of ensuring
loop freedom even in the face of anomalous delivery of routing
control messages, and which solve classical problems associated with
distance vector protocols, including the problem of ''counting to
   infinity''.

This document describes a routing protocol for ad hoc networks.
In particular, it is suitable for highly versatile networks,
characterized by large range of nodal mobilities and large network
diameters. The protocol is a hybrid of a proactive and a reactive
schemes, allowing adjustment of its operation to the current

Title : Temporally-Ordered Routing Algorithm (TORA)
                          Version 1 Functional Specification
	Author(s)	: S. Corson, V. Park
	Filename	: draft-ietf-manet-tora-spec-00.txt
	Pages : 20
	Date : 02-Dec-97

This document provides a detailed specification of Version 1 of the
Temporally-Ordered Routing Algorithm (TORA)--a distributed routing
protocol for mobile, multihop, wireless networks. Its intended use is
for routing of Internet Protocol (IP) datagrams within an autonmous
system. The basic, underlying algorithm is neither a distance-vector
nor a link-state; it is one of a family of algorithms referred to as
''link reversal'' algorithms. The protocol's reaction is structured as
a temporally-ordered sequence of diffusing computations, each
computation consisting of a sequence of directed link reversals. The
protocol is highly adaptive, efficient and scalable; and is well-
suited for use in large, dense, mobile networks. In these networks,
the protocol's reaction to link failures typically involves only a
localized ''single pass'' of the distributed algorithm. This desirable
behavior is achieved through the use of a physical or logical clock
to establish the ''temporal order'' of topological change events. The
established temporal ordering is subsequently used to structure (or
order) the algorithm's reaction to topological changes.

A New Internet-Draft is available from the on-line Internet-Drafts directories.
This draft is a work item of the Mobile Ad-hoc Networks Working Group of the IETF.

Title : An Internet MANET Encapsulation Protocol (IMEP)
                          Specification
	Author(s)	: S. Corson, V. Park
	Filename	: draft-ietf-manet-imep-spec-00.txt
	Pages : 18
	Date : 02-Dec-97

This memo describes a multipurpose network-layer protocol---named the
Internet MANET Encapsulation Protocol (IMEP)---designed to support
the operation of many routing algorithms or other upper layer
protocols intended for use in Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET). The
protocol incorporates mechanisms for supporting link status sensing,
control message aggregation and encapsulation, broadcast reliability,
network-layer address resolution and provides hooks for interrouter
security authentication procedures. The IMEP also puts forth a
framework or architecture for MANET router and interface
   identification and addressing.

The present specification is high-level and incomplete, giving only a
behavioral protocol description and proposed packet format. This
version of this draft is intended primarily to acquaint readers with
the concept of the protocol. A subsequent revision will detail the
   protocol's mechanisms and data structures.

Title : The Dynamic Source Routing Protocol for
                          Mobile Ad Hoc Networks
	Author(s)	: D. Johnson, D. Maltz, J. Broch
	Filename	: draft-ietf-manet-dsr-00.txt
	Pages : 40
	Date : 16-Mar-98

Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) is a routing protocol designed
specifically for use in mobile ad hoc networks. The protocol allows
nodes to dynamically discover a source route across multiple network
hops to any destination in the ad hoc network. When using source
routing, each packet to be routed carries in its header the complete,
ordered list of nodes through which the packet must pass. A key
advantage of source routing is that intermediate hops do not need
to maintain routing information in order to route the packets they
receive, since the packets themselves already contain all of the
necessary routing information. This, coupled with the dynamic,
on-demand nature of Route Discovery, completely eliminates the need
for periodic router advertisements and link status packets, reducing
the overhead of DSR, especially during periods when the network
topology is stable and these packets serve only as keep-alives.

	Author(s)	: J. Macker, S. Corson
	Filename	: draft-ietf-manet-issues-01.txt
	Pages : 8
	Date : 26-Jun-98

This memo first describes the characteristics of Mobile Ad hoc
Networks (MANETs), and their idiosyncrasies with respect to
traditional, hardwired packet networks. It then discusses the effect
these differences have on the design and evaluation of network
control protocols with an emphasis on routing performance evaluation
   considerations.

Title : Cluster Based Routing Protocol(CBRP)
                          Functional Specification
	Author(s)	: M. Jiang, J. Li, Y. Tay
	Filename	: draft-ietf-manet-cbrp-spec-00.txt
	Pages : 13
	Date : 03-Aug-98

Cluster Based Routing Protocol (CBRP) is a routing protocol designed
for use in mobile ad hoc networks. The protocol divides the nodes of
the ad hoc network into a number of overlapping or disjoint clusters
in a distributed manner. A cluster head is elected for each cluster
to maintain cluster membership information. Inter-cluster routes are
discovered dynamically using the cluster membership information kept
at each cluster head. By clustering nodes into groups, the protocol
efficiently minimizes the flooding traffic during route discovery and
speeds up this process as well. Furthermore, the protocol takes into
consideration of the existence of uni-directional links and uses
these links for both intra-cluster and inter-cluster routing.
