IETF 121: Getting Ready for Energy-Efficient Networking (GREEN) working group
The GREEN working group met for the first time at 09:30 UTC on 4 November 2024 to discuss how improve energy efficiency; to understand energy consumption by different links, nodes, and devices/components within a network.
Building on a successful Birds of a Feather (BOF) session held during IETF 120, the Getting Ready for Energy-Efficient Networking (green) Working Group met to explore use cases, derive requirements, and provide solutions for identifying and characterizing energy efficiency metrics, methods related to energy consumption of network devices, and optimizing energy efficiency across the Internet.
