IETF Administration LLC staffing update

27 Jan 2020

I am pleased to announce that Greg Wood will be joining the IETF LLC as Director of Communications and Operations beginning February 1, 2020.

This appointment strengthens the operational capabilities of the LLC and provides the IETF/IRTF/IAB with permanent support for communications and outreach.  I look forward to working with Greg to deliver on the IETF LLC team’s responsibilities.

In general we aim to follow an open process for recruitment, but this has been a special case as Greg has spent 80%+ of his time, for several years, working in a similar role for the IETF/IRTF/IAB while employed by the Internet Society (ISOC).  This longstanding support from ISOC has been very gratefully received, as has their help in making this a smooth transfer of employment. Before joining ISOC, Greg was the Director of Communications for Internet2. Greg will continue to be based in the Washington, D.C. area and can be reached ghwood@ietf.org

Additionally, we are pleased to announce that the LLC has contracted with AMS, the IETF Secretariat, for Stephanie McCammon to be our Interim Sponsorship Coordinator for the next six months, to give us time to put an overall fundraising/sponsorship strategy into place.  Stephanie is also a familiar face having worked for AMS for some time.
