IETF 115: IRTF Open
The Internet Research Task Force (IRTF) Open session, including Applied Networking Research Prize (ANRP) presentations, was held during IETF 115 at 0930 UTC on 9 November 2022.
Gautam Akiwate for his work on the risks of domain hijacking due to registrar practices, following a presentation of the paper “Risky BIZness: Risks Derived from Registrar Name Management” at the SIGCOMM 2021 Internet Measurement Conference.
Corrine Cath for her ethnographic work on the IETF’s distinct organizational culture and how its "rough" edges limit the ability of human rights advocates to get their concerns included in technical discussions, published in the Telecommunications Policy Journal, volume 45, number 6, 2021, with an updated version of the work available in open access form as Chapter 7 of Corinne’s PhD thesis.
Daniel Wagner for his work on DDoS attack detection and mitigation as presented in the paper “United We Stand: Collaborative Detection and Mitigation of Amplification DDoS Attacks at Scale” published as part of the proceedings of the ACM SIGSAC Conference on Computer and Communications Security, 2021.
